The Shadow City The DemonBorn Trilogy Book 2 eBook LC Hibbett
I just enjoyed reading this Demon trilogy books so far. This was book 2 and it was just as good as the Shadow Children. It was well written and I enjoyed the book from beginning to end.So full of mystery and action and magic.
It starts off a year after the events from the Shadow Children. Eli is unconscious and Lydia and Frank haven't been found yet. Grace and Sam were separated. But it does not disappoint when it comes to action and betrayal. All the fighting scenes are awesome.. also there's a lot of the back story , the history of the Demons and Angels and humans from the beginning before the Veil. Quite so interesting.
Then off course, they go to the Shadow City..
Over all, this book was good for a second book and I enjoyed it. I wasn't disappointed in anything. It also kept me hooked with all the suspense and Jonah. And ooh, how Grace and Sam should be using their magic.
If you've read book 1, and not sure about the rest . don't hesitate and read them all.. it's so good.

The Shadow City The DemonBorn Trilogy Book 2 eBook LC Hibbett Reviews
This part of the series grows way more intense. If you have the stomach to delve into a deeper and darker story with bloodshed and death then by all means read on. The plot thickened faster and more intense than I believed it even could. There are some dark and vivid deaths in this one so be prepared for a bit of heartwrenching violence. It was an amazing advancement in the series and if you can handle some raw reality I stridently suggest reading this second one of the demon born trilogy. If you were happy with the first and want to imagine a better ending of outcome on your own without what leads up to basically real war then that's up to you. I expect a very intense, dark, and thrilling installment of her final demon born novel the shadow war. Cannot wait to read. It's downloading on the kindle as I type this. Once again, congratulations author, not what U expected at all with the warm and fuzzy first book, but dang I am very impressed at your work. Thank you for another exiting read.
I'm very sorry I bought this series. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I am just not able to emotionally handle it. I wish I could return it for refund but, even following the refund guides, there is no refund option available on the 'contents' page. I apologize to the author for not being able to even get through the first book in this series but it upset me so much I am considering deleting the entire series even if I don't get a refund.
I am so glad I discovered this author and especially this series. I feel like I am actually there with the shadow children as they fight for their lives and fight to save the world. I can't wait to see what's next in the series and how it all will end. I definitely recommend this book but you really need to read this series in order to be able to follow what is going on.
I'm not sure if I was maybe expecting too much but this book wasn't the chicken, rum and side of fries that I guess I had thought it would be. The story seemed slow in progression and for some reason Grace didn't seem herself, her personality seemed somewhat different (even though L.C could probably easily explain that away with 'maturity' and all the grief that she had had to endure). The story was also a bit hard to get into, I found myself trying to remember who was whom and what event led to what; if you didn't read the first book you'll be a little lost with this one.
Enough with the bashing. Things I liked included the fact that Eve was found, that secrets were being revealed left right and center and that LC managed to still include a little humour.
Already got the 3rd book (Shadow War) but hesitating to read it since the 2nd book was a little disappointing.
3.5 for me. It's a three because I had too many personal issues with it, but it's a four because I couldn't put the book down. I had to know what would happen until the end.
The main thing that made the reading experience hard for me was the way things were written out. It starts out, once again, with things you don't know, and as the story progresses, you slowly get fed stuff on why this is happening, or why one of the characters acts the way they do now. On one hand I love it, like what was done with the first book, but this one I felt needed more backstory just because so much more happens. I don't like feeling like I just missed a whole book because it takes away from other things I should be concentrating on. I don't know if it was my bad mood from everything I experienced, but it made a lot of the drama feel unnecessary. Some things came off as plot points, I wasn't feeling the drama, and overall, it was all just.... I don't know. A miss for me, I think. I'm not running to the third and final installment because of how this book left me feeling, but I know I intend to finish this... eventually.
If I had paid for this book I would ask for my money back. It was very hard to read due to a lack of proof reading or editing. Did nobody read this before publishing? You need to put spaces in between EVERY word. There are few sentences that do not have a string of three words together without a space between. The first book was just ok. There is no development of characters at all. I won't even bother with the third book. This is not an author for me.
This is the second book in this series and the second one I have read by this author. I absolutely love it. Was seriously hooked from page one and could not put it down. Grace, Sam and the rest of their family and friends are working trying to rescue the rest of the half born from the Silent homes and trying to figure out how to stop their enemy from discovering the ones with the lost powers and killing all the half born. There are some twists and definitely some unexpected things that happen and are revealed. Definitely can not wait for the next book to find out what happens next and how Grace and Sam's relationship goes. Also how to best figure out how to strengthen their powers together. So excited for the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
